Moving on

As the summer draws closer I am in high anticipation.
I haven't been home in years. Almost three to be exact. It is interesting to think about how much my life has changed in all that time. One of the reasons I am looking forward to going back to Mozambique and South Africa this summer is because I feel like I have forgotten where I come from.
I am looking forward to remembering where I came from. Don't get me wrong I am also looking forward to showing Jim where I came from. I have been talking to friends from high school and it reminds me of what my life used to be like.
I remember having adventures, and playing outside. I am so thankful that I get to show Jim those things, and to allow him to see that life. I am looking forward to the adventure that will be this summer. God has some amazing things planed and I cannot wait to see what they are.

His steadfast love indures forever

I was reading my bible today and I was just struck with how amazing God is. I was reading in Psalms 136, which is the Psalm that talks about how God's steadfast love endures forever. I was struck fresh with just how amazing God is. No matter how many times we fail he is faithful.
I was also struck with how the Psalm opens, "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good"  I know that whatever the future holds God is good and his steadfast love will endure forever!

Psalm 136

 1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good.
            His love endures forever.
2 Give thanks to the God of gods.
            His love endures forever.
3 Give thanks to the Lord of lords:
            His love endures forever.  4 to him who alone does great wonders,
            His love endures forever.
5 who by his understanding made the heavens,
            His love endures forever.
6 who spread out the earth upon the waters,
            His love endures forever.
7 who made the great lights—
            His love endures forever.
8 the sun to govern the day,
            His love endures forever.
9 the moon and stars to govern the night;
            His love endures forever.
 10 to him who struck down the firstborn of Egypt
            His love endures forever.
11 and brought Israel out from among them
            His love endures forever.
12 with a mighty hand and outstretched arm;
            His love endures forever.
 13 to him who divided the Red Sea asunder
            His love endures forever.
14 and brought Israel through the midst of it,
            His love endures forever.
15 but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;
            His love endures forever.
 16 to him who led his people through the wilderness;
            His love endures forever.
 17 to him who struck down great kings,
            His love endures forever.
18 and killed mighty kings—
            His love endures forever.
19 Sihon king of the Amorites
            His love endures forever.
20 and Og king of Bashan—
            His love endures forever.
21 and gave their land as an inheritance,
            His love endures forever.
22 an inheritance to his servant Israel.
            His love endures forever.
 23 He remembered us in our low estate
            His love endures forever.
24 and freed us from our enemies.
            His love endures forever.
25 He gives food to every creature.
            His love endures forever.
 26 Give thanks to the God of heaven.
            His love endures forever.

The New Year

This year has been amazing. Looking back on it I see many mistakes that have been made, and many blessings that have come my way. I am eager to see what the new year holds for Jim and I. Right now a lot of things are still up in the air. I am looking forward to flying back to Grand Rapids, from my sister's house in North Carolina, and starting school again in January.
